Securing service oriented architectures with WS-Security

Today's businesses rely on encrypted links and firewalls to safeguard critical information. As service oriented architectures (SOA) become widespread, more companies open their internal APIs to create new services through partnerships with other businesses. Unfortunately, security is only as strong as the weakest link and SOA adds lots of them. In this talk we will introduce WS-Security, the only standard available today for guaranteeing end to end security for SOA. We will also touch on its performance implications for current systems and how this is hurting the adoption of SOA.
